Beautiful Yet Different Weave Hairstyles

If you are considering getting more hair added to your own, you will see that not all weave hairstyles are of the same quality. Over the last decade, the process of weaving in fake or real hair into your real hair has really advanced.

This makes hair weaves more mainstream then they have ever been. If you are thinking about getting a weave added to your hair so you have additional length or fullness, you will need to pick the type of weave you want.

From sewing to tape, the different weave methods are perfect for specific kinds of hair. First talk with your stylist because they can give you a good idea of how you should handle your hair to get the best hair weave you can.

Who Can Wear Hair Weaves?

Anyone who wants to can wear weave hairstyles. Depending on your face shape will depend on how long or short the weave is. For instance, if you have a round face, you can try varying lengths of hair in layers, a bob style which is angled and low ponytails. For oval faces, you can go long and straight or go with a bouncy bob-style. If you have heart shaped face, bobs are also great, long layers with wave ends work well and so do side parts.
Many different people wear hair weaves. Many times, younger black women will wear them to accentuate their hair and give themselves different hairstyles. It is a favorite to lengthen their hair and to give themselves pretty up-dos of various styles with a hair weave. However, many black men have also been known to wear these weaves in their hair to cover up the fact that they are losing their own hair. This is an alternative to other hair loss products or procedures that has become more and more popular.

Types of Weave Hairstyles

Sewn-in Weave – To get the most permanent hairstyle, you should choose to get a sewn-in weave. Instead of bonding the hair weave to your hair, your stylist sews the swatches into your existing hair style, which is where you get the term weave. Before you can get a sewn-in weave, you have to have your own hair braided into cornrows, and the extensions will be woven into these braids. This type of style is best for total color, length and texture change. A sewn-in weave will last six to eight weeks.

Bonded Weaves – If you don’t like the idea of getting a hair weave sewn into your hair, you can go with a bonded weave. These waves use glue or tapes to fuse the extension to your existing hair in a spot that will not be noticed. Since you need your own hair to cover up the bonding, these hair weaves are best when you are keeping most of your own hair.

Clipped Weaves – While sewn and bonded weave hairstyles are best for long-term use, you can change your look easily for just a night with clip-in weave extensions. Tiny claws are used to fix the hairpiece into your hair, which is good if your hair is easily breakable or is very dry, since the process of weaving can damage your hair. Make sure to take care of your clip extensions by hanging them up after you’ve worn them.
